Arlington National Cemetery To Get Expansion
Legal proceedings have been initiated by the Justice Department to condemn nine acres of land in Northern Virginia to facilitate a major expansion of Arlington National Cemetery. The civil condemnation suit was filed by the government lawyers Monday in federal court in Alexandria. Arlington County will be repaid for the land with a realignment of Columbia Pike, a major highway running through the county, according to court papers.
